Mystery Smell - what could this be?!
Please help me solve this mystery. We’ve had a smell in our home for a long time, several years, and it continues to get worse. It’s smells slightly musty (but not moldy) sharp and almost a little like old body oil. It has now infiltrated the entire home, and is so strong that one of our cars also smells like this now, but seems like it kind of started in the kitchen. It smells particularly strongly around and in our old cabinetry. Could this be the glue or the wood used? Some of the cabinetry is original and from the 80s and some of it looks like it might be new. When we leave for a couple days and come back, the smell is extremely strong enough to give me a headache. We’ve aired out the house as a start, but I need a game plan. It’s driving us crazy!!
