Planning to do the Mantario Trail – Budget Gear Advice Needed
I’m planning to hike the Mantario Trail for the first time and I’m trying to put together all the gear I need without spending more than necessary.
Right now I only have:
One person Outbound sleeping bag
Black Diamond 65L backpack
Bug spray
Bear spray
I’m looking for advice on:
What gear is absolutely essential to complete the trail safely?
What items can I skip or use cheaper alternatives for?
Is there any gear I should rent instead of buying?
Any tips from people who’ve completed Mantario on a budget?
My goal is to keep costs as low as possible while still being safe. I’d really appreciate recommendations, budget-friendly gear suggestions, or even places in Winnipeg where I can rent or borrow equipment.
