Hello. I recently finished 1.5yrs raveling latm and visited Honduras 6 months, Belize 1 month, Mexico 11 months, and Colombia 6 days. I worked for 2 Scuba companies, did Cavern and Cave, became a Divemaster, nitrox, deep, adaptive diver. 126 Oceanic dives now. I am feeling very lost now bc I got robbed in Mexico sorta by police bc I had a dehydration emergency, and was taken to hospital. It was terrifying. Ended up somehow bailing back to USA with no money, had my debit card shipped to St. Aug Florida so I barely survived. It was scary. I then took an entry level security contract overseas that in total pays including my va benefits about 72k tax free. Im 3 months in, and my mind is spiraling about "what's next" and im worried about my banking bc I use a credit union for the pension, and revolut over here which has been great so far. I have an apo address. My issue is, I have a BS degree in sales and am talented at it. No wife or kids. With the rising cost of living in the USA, im feeling lucky to be here, and considering staying and getting residency. Kosovo is honestly nice, and not bad. There are very nice malls here, people are pretty friendly. Am I overthinking? I feel few parts terrified. One part happy and fortunate. I always knew I needed to use my military experience doing this kinda work, civilian world didn't jibe well with me. Im debt free end of this month. Im considering trying to open a Raiffeisen account, moving my pension over, keeping revolut, and then applying for residency in Albania by the Ocean after 2-3yrs here. I feel like a failure a lot. Or that its wise I came here, because it has a path to the marshall islands where the pay is better, I work less, and can do Scuba 4x a week most likely. Thoughts here? I do like my coworkers and bosses though. They're very caring and have helped me a great deal. Thank you for any input. Im going to go get food and then rest bc I've been sick. #inspiration source
