🏀 The United States beat France 97–79 in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup final in Berlin, winning a fifth straight world title.
France led by as many as 14 points in the first half, but the Americans took control with a 30–12 third quarter. Breanna Stewart finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds; Jackie Young added 18 points.
The title was the United States’ 12th Women’s World Cup championship. The team completed the tournament 6–0, while France earned the best World Cup finish in its history with silver.
FIBA named Stewart the tournament MVP, her second World Cup MVP award after 2018. Spain won bronze by defeating host Germany 81–58. 🏆
