TIL that Neutrinos are particles that pass through the Universe without interacting with matter. So Japan is building a 70 meter high tank inside a Mountain, with 40,000 Photosensors to observe the very weak Cherenkov Radiation when the Neutrinos occasionally collide with the Electrons in the water.
