⚽ Paris Saint-Germain beat Aston Villa 2–1 in Salzburg on 12 August to retain the UEFA Super Cup. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring, Brian Madjo equalised for Villa, and Désiré Doué scored the second-half winner.

🏆 The annual match pits the reigning Champions League winners against the Europa League holders. PSG entered as Champions League holders, while Villa had reached the match by winning the Europa League for the first time.

Doué’s goal was initially ruled out for offside but was awarded after a video review found Matty Cash had played him onside. Madjo, 17, became the youngest player to start and score in a UEFA Super Cup final.

⏭️ PSG became the first club to win consecutive Super Cups since Real Madrid in 2016 and 2017. The result adds another European trophy to PSG’s recent run, while Villa begin their season after their first major title in 30 years.
