Married couples who sleep in separate rooms are not…

Married couples who sleep in separate rooms are not failing at marriage.

My partner has sleep apnoea and snores terribly.Even with a CPAP machine the noise from it keeps me awake. I have incredibly light sleep. For years we tried sharing a bed believing it was the right thing but it left us both exhausted and irritable.

We sleep apart now. We’re happier, we’re nicer to each other, and our marriage is better than it’s ever been.

The idea that a good marriage requires sharing a bed is just a weird cultural assumption nobody ever questioned. Bad sleep makes you a worse partner.
