Ultimate hack: Tell them they're not Christian
So. I was raised like many here in an extremely conservative Christian community in a very conservative Christian state.
Recently I went back to visit and was getting coffee with an old friend in a cafe in the morning. Unbeknownst to me, the café was also a meeting place of an evangelical Christian group. But whatever, no big deal right? I lived among these people my whole life and learned to tolerate their arrogance and pride.
So we're getting coffee and talking about the good old days and a couple women from the church are saying hi to him because I guess they're all regulars and it's not that huge of a city.
So we've been there for a bit and a couple of the women ask to sit at our table. I'm kind of annoyed because I don't have much time to chill with my friend as I only come back to visit once a year, but again. Whatever. So they sit at the table. Now we're doing the normal chat "where did you move, what do you do there etc." and then one makes a comment about the Gay and trans agenda...
Now... My friend and I have a friend who killed himself in high school because he was gay. Nobody knew it at the time. It came out after he killed himself. And nobody would've guessed this kid was gay either (he was 16 when he did it)
All the years of my rage against these religious bigots came out at once, but in a way I didn't expect. But it had great results. I told the woman straight up "I don't think you're a Christian". And my friend is kind of like "whoa whoa" but I'm laser focused on this woman and taking her down now. And she's locked on to me. And she's like "I know God bla bla. who are you to say?!" and the usual nonsense. And I just continue. Using all of their words against them. There was no need to argue about their pride as a deadly sin or the Bible. I told her she needed to let Jesus into her heart. And repent. And asked if she wanted to go to hell. She basically called me sick and angry and she and her friend got up from the table and left.
I consider this a very easy win and I've got into many arguments over the years but all it took was using their own words against them to finally get them to shut up.
So in summary. Just say you're a Christian when dealing with these people and tell them to repent or let Jesus into their hearts. They take this as very aggressive, but it's no more aggressive than what they do. You're literally using identical language and it can stop them on their tracks and make them rage quit.
