What made Carnage different from all the other edgy characters from the 90s?
So I’ve noticed while looking through comic book history that in the 90s both DC and marvel were essentially competing against each other to see who could make the edgiest darkest or most badass characters in either designs for new costumes or completely new characters, and while some of those characters stuck around like Cable or Azrael, none of them have had quite the same timeless popularity as Carnage did. My question as someone who knows very little about carnage is: why? Out of the dozens of gritty 90s anti-heroes and villains, why was Carnage one of the only ones to become a staple character that even casual fans will have at least heard of? What makes Carnage so special? I’d love to hear your opinions just make sure they’re respectful! #entertainment source
