I can't talk to boys

I 17F can't talk to boys my age. they all seem oddly intimdating. it's not like anything ever happened to me where as I'd be afraid of men or anything like that. there wasn't anywhere to sit on the bus at school today and the only seat left was next to a boy. I could tell he didn't care if I was there either way but I was definitely nervous the whole bus ride. the nervousness applies to all boys. I'm just not sure what to do it effects the way I socailize.
