Some time back I failed some of my exams , it was really a difficult situation for me back then but I wanted to share some things that helped me to bounce back.
1) Acceptance -
Acceptance of the situation around me, I kept repenting about what I wasn't able to do and how it should have been but in reality, it doesn't change anything, if I want to progress then the only way for me is to accept things as they are-
If I failed, it just means the situation required more than I currently had to give. It’s not a judgment on me, just a gap to be filled. It doesn't mean that I gave up rather it's about stopping to fight the reality and working with it to make it better.
2) Working towards enhancing myself first-
One thing I realised was that I was too focused on goals , I was constantly thinking of passing the exam and getting a good job and how that will settle everything in my life but the reality was that I had to direct all that energy towards enhancing my capabilities, if I constantly focus on improving myself then definitely I'll get better results, so this thing of focusing on the process instead of the result really helped me stay focused.
3) Meditating-
Let me be honest, all these things are something that I have already heard but the real challenge was in application, when I was face to face with the situation, all these things used to evaporate from my head and I was back in the loop of constant struggle, but meditating helped me get out of that loop, it helped me to remind myself that I'm giving too much importance to my thoughts and also sometimes it happens that we reject things thinking it ain't gonna work just because we tried it a few times and it didn't seem to work, but reality is things like meditation only work when we stay consistent at least for me it has shown tremendous result , all these talks became life experience for me only when I was able to keep my mind clear with meditation.
I heard this quote by Sàdhgūrū that really resonated with me -
Your failure is just a situation. Your success is also just a situation. Only if you create an inner environment that is not determined by these situations, can you truly navigate life with ease.
TL;DR: After failing my exams, I bounced back by shifting my mindset in three ways: accepting reality as a situation to work with rather than a personal judgment, focusing on self-enhancement over outcomes, and using consistent meditation to stop my thoughts from overriding my progress. #inspiration source
