In 2007, US Navy SEAL Mike Day was shot 27 times by militants and was also hit by shrapnel from a grenade during a raid against an al Qaeda cell. Despite these severe injuries, he was able to defeat all four attackers and walked away without help after waking up. He killed himself in 2020.
