TIL about the Defence of the Polish Post Office in Danzig, one of the 1st actions of WWII. In 1939, Polish Post Office staff in Gdańsk resisted German SS, police and military forces for around 15 hours. After surrendering, the defenders were tortured, unlawfully tried and executed.
