Board and batten wood thickness
hi everybody, I’d appreciate some thoughts from folks with more experience doing carpentry and woodworking. We recently had some baseboards installed and I’m trying to diy board and batten in the room. I’ve looked everywhere in stores near me and cannot find MDF in 1/2 inch or thinner varieties.
I’d prefer not to rip out or replace the baseboards because they’re brand new. Is a chamfer a good option here or will that look tacky? We would prefer for the vertical pieces to not be proud of the baseboards.
do specialty lumberyards typically carry MDF that doesn’t have to be ripped? Photos:
