At Least They Weren't Found Under A Car Park...

Some workmen found two skeletons that seemed like they could be the Princes in the Tower. These were Edward and Richard, Edward being king after their father Edward IV died in 1483. Many speculate that they were murdered. Their uncle, also named Richard, was first made regent given Edward VI was 12 years old at the time and later deposed them and took the crown for himself by having Parliament declare them illegitimate because of the way Edward IV's womanizing occurred. Many believe Richard had them both killed to avoid a potential power struggle, or else Henry Tudor had them killed two years later so he could avoid a power struggle with them, especially as Edward VI would have been old enough to rule as an adult by then, or else some other noble or soldier did it to frame one of the two or because they thought it would be helpful for them.

King Charles has the right to order the skeleton's DNA be tested against his to see if those skeletons are indeed the prince's, and if so, how old they were when they died to see if that can nail down some of the picture.
