Answer 1:
As someone who didn’t have the freedom to study my chosen course in college, I totally get where Carla’s coming from. When we’re young, we’re inspired by our idols and want to follow our hearts—but it’s tough to know what the long-term outcome will be. It’s frustrating that sometimes we don’t listen to our parents, even though they’ve sacrificed so much for us.

Carla does have a point in arguing with her father about what course she wants to take, especially since she’s almost 18 and ready to make her own choices. Still, I think just being a fan of someone isn’t always enough reason to follow in their footsteps. I hope she really takes time to reflect, because what if she gets halfway through her course and realizes she only chose it because of someone else’s influence? It’s important to think things through and make sure her decision truly matches what she wants for herself.

No matter what, I hope her father supports her—even if she doesn’t choose Medicine. Parents usually just want what’s best for us and will support us as long as it leads to something good.

If I were in Carla’s shoes, the main benefit of choosing the course I truly want would be that I’d be more motivated to study hard since it’s my dream. Personally, I’d consider taking a business course so I can gain the skills and knowledge needed to confidently start and run my own business in the future.

Answer 2:
If I were Carlo, I’d go along with my father’s wish to take Medicine because I know he only wants the best for us. With so many people getting sick nowadays, I feel like what I’d learn would really make a difference and be super useful in the future.

Answer 3:
When it comes to taking responsibility for my college course, I’d go with my personal choice. All my life I’ve followed my parents, but I think it’s finally time to listen to what my heart wants. I’ll take charge, give it my all, and make them proud—just in my own way, even if it’s not what they originally wanted.
