Toronto Raptors offically announce the Kawhi Leonard trade

>The Toronto Raptors announced Monday they have acquired forward Kawhi Leonard from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for forward Brandon Ingram, guard-forward Gradey Dick, two future first round draft picks, one future first round pick swap and two future second round picks. 

>Leonard, 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, rejoins the Raptors where he played during the 2018-19 season and helped the franchise capture its first NBA championship. He was named NBA Finals MVP after helping lead Toronto to the title and earned All-NBA Second Team and All-Defensive Second Team recognition that season. 

>“We're thrilled to welcome Kawhi back to Toronto. His impact on our organization, our city, and our country is undeniable, and he embodies the competitiveness and championship mindset that we value,” Raptors general manager and executive vice-president Bobby Webster said. “We believe his leadership, experience and talent will help us as we continue building toward our next championship. We also want to thank Brandon and Gradey and appreciate their work ethic, character, and basketball excellence they brought to our team every day.”

>A native of Los Angeles, Leonard has career averages of 20.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.7 steals, and 31.8 minutes in 798 career games (769 starts) over 14 NBA seasons with the San Antonio Spurs (2011-18), Toronto and the LA Clippers (2019-26). He is a seven-time NBA All-Star, a seven-time All-NBA selection and a seven-time All-Defensive Team honouree. Leonard is a two-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP and a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. In 2021, he was also named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team. Leonard was picked 15th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers who drafted his rights to the Spurs.

>This past season Leonard averaged a career-high 27.9 points, marking his seventh consecutive season averaging at least 20.0 points. He finished seventh in MVP voting, participated in the NBA All-Star Game and was named to the All-NBA Second Team.

>Ingram averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 33.8 minutes in 77 games with the Raptors last season. He was acquired from New Orleans in February 2025. 

>Dick was selected 13th overall by Toronto in the 2023 NBA Draft. He averaged 9.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 20.6 minutes in 190 career games with the Raptors
