Jack Hylton and His Orchestra - The One Man Band - 1931…

Jack Hylton and His Orchestra - The One Man Band - 1931

“The One Man Band” (Ted Weems & Baxter) | Jack Hylton & His Orchestra | Vocal Chorus: Pat O'Malley

Jack Hylton and His Orchestra are in excellent form on this HOT side. This record did not sell well and, as a result, is hardly seen today. This is a Spanish issue.

His Masters Voice (Electrola); Berlin, March 11,1931.

Didn't sell, hardly seen, and they still call it a hot side. That is the whole chase. Spanish HMV out of Berlin, 11 March 1931, Pat O'Malley on the vocal chorus, Jack Hylton and His Orchestra in excellent form. #jazz like this usually sits in the wrong pile for decades. Is the Spanish issue the only pressing in reach, or does another one turn up just as rarely?

As you say, , there aren't many pressings because it didn't sell well, so it is a rarity. Other pressings, such as HMV B5994, do surface occasionally, usually in antiques markets.

A side this hot that still failed to sell is how a Spanish Electrola from Berlin, 11 March 1931, ends up almost unseen, while HMV B5994 only drifts through an antiques market now and then. Pat O'Malley out front, the band in that form, and the rarity really is the sales slip, not the playing.
