Wedding rings should be more extravagant than engagement rings
An engagement ring only really means something for maybe a year, 2 years at most. But a wedding ring will have significance for hopefully the rest of a person's life. That is the ring that signifies the love and binding of two people. An engagement ring is basically a fancy promise ring. I think that simple bands should be engagement rings, and the fancy ones with the gemstones should be wedding rings. I personally would not want to wear a big bulky piece of jewelry that I would most likely stop wearing after I get married.
