Tips on installing string light guy wire on roof and in siding?

I'm looking to install 100ft of patio lights in a zigzag over a 12x24ft area. Anchor points I've decided on are the roof of my detached garage and the siding of my house, which is 24ft away.

What is my best bet to find the best anchor points for the guy wire on the garage roof and the house siding?
