Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I don’t own my 1937 house, I’m a renter, but I love it and try to take good care of it.
I use lamps in my living room and don’t ever turn on the wall sconce light fixture, mainly because it is a 1990s monstrosity that doesn’t go with the age or character of the house.
Could I safely remove it from the wall, cap the electrical wires (or whatever action is appropriate), then hang something (a picture frame or mirror) over the hole? Would that be safe? It would need to be a process that I can reverse when/if I move out in the future.
