Happy Humpday, everyone!

Here's another one of my acrylics paintings 😸 This one is inspired by and an homage to The Secret of Kells (2009) – a wonderful film which I have already described here two years ago, during one of my #HumpdayandChill events! Proof: https://tangled.com/c/b8ad3bae377aaeaf5404648e87f08f19f2be07e05 😺

In any case – it's a wonderful story, and the art is simply gorgeous. The distinct, flat, and Celtic-inspired art for the film was spearheaded by director Tomm Moore and art director Ross Stewart at the Irish studio Cartoon Saloon. Their work was heavily influenced by medieval illumination, Celtic art, and illustrators like John Bauer, aiming for a "flat, with false perspective" style. Here's Tomm explaining where the inspiration came from: https://youtu.be/3U_tsVupxeU?si=9iabuWWyATYYN4Xr
