How am I supposed to react when my husband's friends say things like "I wish I could swap wives with you", "If only I'd met her first" or "Maybe I could be the 3rd wheel in your marriage" to my husband in front of me?
I get very uncomfortable with compliments and attention. I've experienced lots and lots of harassment in my life and I just get this feeling that "Oh no, they want something from me" and "am I safe?", when ever people pay me too much attention.
I know these guys would never do anything bad, and I trust that my husband knows how to choose his friends etc. But I just don't know how to act or what to say when ever things like this happen, I just feel very VERY awkward and uncomfortable. My husband thinks it's funny and he takes it as a compliment, because "I managed to get you" and because "you're so amazing and beautiful", so he just jokes about it with them. But to me it's just gross. I'm a human being, not some rare, prized Pokémon card to possess or something.
So what am I supposed to say/how am I supposed to react when they say stuff like that with both of us in the room? Am I supposed to just try and find humor in it or what? I don't want to be rude or anything but I'd rather not have to fake laugh either (it's that awkward fake laugh when you're feeling uncomfortable and don't know what to do).
