My brother is 6 1/2 years older than me and grew up a state away with his mother. I grew up with my mother and our father. His mom’s hobby was photography and took this photo of him in a place called Vaughn Woods.
This photo was framed and hung on the wall in the house I grew up in when I was a kid. I always thought it was such a beautiful photo. As a young kid I remember it making me feel so calm and peaceful. I thought it was a painting before finding out his mother took the photo.
The photo sometime when I was a teenager got put into the attic because I don’t remember it past being a young kid. Through two homes sales and my parents moving back north from Florida several years ago some of their belongings ended up in storage at my house with my wife and I and unbeknownst to me this photo was with some of there things. Just tonight at the date of this post my wife was cleaning out our basement because we are selling our house and found this photo! Totally blew my mind. Seeing it again after almost 30 years was wild.
I hope everyone enjoys the photo!
Last bit, shoutout to my brother! Even at 6 1/2 years older than me we were and still are best friends! I remember in first grade me arguing with my teacher when she told me that we were half brothers. Not in our books! #history source
