What are some ways to change my cynical view on strangers?
As a high school student, I am lumped in with a sea of different kinds people with different hobbies, interests, opinions, etc. etc., but harbor plenty of distrust and unwillingness to get close unless I am comfortable enough with them like with my other friends. This distrust causes potential friends to have the door in my head slammed in their faces because I don’t fully trust them because I believe people don’t care, won’t accept some parts of me (being a furry most notably), or something about them turns me away. I feel I’ve just been an asshole whenever I choose to stick with my neat little circle of friends who I love deeply instead of letting someone else into my headspace.
