Let's talk about our Passport Strength. Indian Passport is insanely weak.
I've heard countless incidents where Indians were denied entry, had to go thru 'random checks', were deported, were rejected visas, and were questioned a lot at immigration.
We boast about India being a superpower and all that, but in reality - we have one of the weakest passports in the world. We need a visa for almost everywhere we want to go to.
**Americas**: US, Canada - Visa needed and super long waiting times + they reject majority within a 1 minute just by asking 1 or 2 questions. Especially for the B1/B2 US VISA.
**South America**: Insane amount of questioning at the airport almost always, almost every South American doubts if you'll illegally immigrate to the US.
**Europe & the UK**: You need a visa every single time with an exhaustive list of documents, hotel and flight bookings, appointments, have to fly to the city with VFS if you city doesn't have one and have to reveal insane amount of personal information. You can still very EASILY get rejected.
**South Korea, Japan, Phillippines and other SEA countries**: These are the few we can get the visa for relatively easier but still requires almost same amount of documents. Japan refunds the visa fee if they rejected you which is nice and you can get visa free to PH if you have a valid US or Japanese Visa.
**Australia & New Zealand**: Big bullies imo, rejection rates are pretty high for tourist visas and they simply don't care UNLESS you're going there to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for a University and then working like a labour for pretty much all your college life.
**Why does this matter?**
Passport holders of almost every EU nation, South American countries, and almost all countries in Oceania have really nice passport strength and can visit the majority EU countries visa-free. We are being subjected to racism, discrimination, harassment and what not. Our travel mobility DOES NOT EXIST. It's trash. Immigration is MORE tough for us. Travel is REALLY tough for us.
The Indian government as far as I have seen, doesn't really care about it as majority decision makers are in high position and can get a 'Diplomatic Passport' by which they are not subjected to Visa requirements and even immigration. It's absurd. They wouldn't care.
Visa-free policies are a combination of strong diplomatic ties, visa-reciprocal policies, effecient government, and people with CIVIL SENSE.
Indians are relentlessly migrating to other countries ILLEGALY and it has basically contributed the most in this regard.
The cherry on top, you can't even hold multiple citizenships if you're an Indian citizen. You'll have to renounce. Majority countries allow dual citizenship and if they don't, for the most part, they have an excellent passport. Example - Japan, Singapore, Germany - you can pretty much visit almost any country visa free with the help of these passports.
I hate the fact that I have restricted opportunities and a very hard travel experience every single time because of the passport I hold. I'll happily give up my Indian passport once I have enough money to buy a passport the suits my travel ambitions.
NOTE: I am not hating on India but merely a travel document we possses as a country, by which, we are identified globally. India's passport is not the same as the country India. Keep that in mind.
