Can i survive a wolf with a knife or an axe? Hello, i live in the woods, and i know there's a group of wolves in my area. I never saw them, but i saw their footprints near my house, and my neighbours saw them various times. I never worried about an attack, but tonight i dreamt about a wolf attacking my 12 y/o brother, my first istinct was to protect him but i felt hopeless. I went to the city to buy a knife (10cm blade) to keep in my pocket when i'm in the woods. I also have axes to cut the wood, but i don't wanna walk with an axe. How do you think i can protect myself and my brother in case of wild animals attacks, especially wolves, wild dogs and boars?

But usually animal attacks can be solved that concentrate on the weapon the animal has... the teeth... so get your bag in your hand and put it on the animals main focus zone.. I always did this when I had dog attacks, but dogs will give up when you leave their territory, wolfs dont think so... Main point: should NEVER BE SCARED!!! decreasing your chances dramaticaly. I think the first intension would be testing if they are scared or attacking.. In case of the last option.. would never go into fight with a team of wolfs...

I have never met wolfs, but had couple of dog attacks in my life. If I would watch some youtube videos --> wolf vs pitbul... then I would think about rather having electronic dog alarm and some noise stuff against the wolfs. I think a 10 cm knife will not be good enough solution - specially if its only a tyoe of one side blade.. get a double sided military designed one. There was an american solder who designed one of the most perfect knifes after he finished his contract and retired - as long as wolfs are never alone and knife is close combat... Low chances. Paprika spray, dog alarm or teaser. One rope with me always if I have to jump up to a tree quickly or whatever. And think about always that the nose is the most sensitive part of a dog... could help this info maybe.
Thats what I would chose, but again.. I have never met wolfs in my entire life.
