Since I was so busy yesterday that I barely had time to take photos of the birthday lunch, here are a few pictures my sister kindly sent me. Thank goodness for sisters! 😂📸 Otherwise, you’d have to believe my stories without any evidence! 🤣🙈
Our Chinese menu started with sushi, followed by Niouk Yen, Teokon, meatball soup (our beloved Boulettes Chinois), 😋 fried meefoon, sweet-and-sour fish, and more delicious dishes whose photos are still missing! 😂🍜🐟
Between eating, chatting, and celebrating, I clearly forgot my duties as the official photographer! 🤭🤣

How was your day? 💖 Mine was filled with love, laughter, delicious food, and beautiful family moments! My sister was so happy celebrating her birthday, and seeing her smile made all the hard work worthwhile! ❤️🎁 Family, good food, and laughter are the best combination! 🥂💃
BUT, there had to be a little drama! 😂🤣 Guess who went on strike this morning? My MICROWAVE! 😱🙄 Of all days, it chose the busiest one to retire without notice! 🤣🤣 Maybe it was jealous that nobody was celebrating its birthday too! 🎂😂
Honestly, dear microwave, your timing is TERRIBLE! 🤣 I had enough to do without adding an appliance funeral to my schedule! ⚰️😂
Thankfully, we survived, the food was delicious, my sister was happy, and we made beautiful memories! ❤️🥰 That's what really matters! 💕
I had absolutely NO TIME to take photos today! 😭😂 Between all the preparations, family time, and kitchen drama, my phone barely got a chance to breathe! 🤣📱
Now I'm back with a full heart, a happy tummy, and maybe a little food coma! 🤣🍰💤

🌿 The Story of the Bilimbis 😂💚
Last Friday, my sisters and my brother were here when, all of a sudden, they looked at the bilimbi tree and decided there were WAY too many bilimbis hanging on it. 😳😂 And just like that, a family mission was born: “We need to pick them!” 😂🧺
So off they went! They picked the bilimbis while I stood there watching like a very important supervisor. 👀🤣 I mean, everyone needs a supervisor, right? 😂
But they didn’t stop there! They came back, cut both ends of the bilimbis, washed them, and chopped them into pieces. By the time they were finished, everything was perfectly prepared for me to make the pickles.
Basically, they did all the hard work and left me with the fun part. 🤣🤣
I simply added some sugar and a little vinegar and let everything soak for two days. Now, you may wonder, why sugar? 🤔 Well, raw bilimbi has a very sharp, sour, tangy taste that can make your mouth go, “ Excuse me?! What just happened?” 😂😝 So the sugar helps balance that intense sourness and gives the pickles a much more pleasant taste. 💚✨
Today, the bilimbis were finally ready for the next stage! 🙌 I transferred them into a strainer and let all that lovely liquid drain away during all the day. And tonight, it was officially pickle-making time! 🥒😂
And of course, here's some photo in the video for the final result, because after all that family teamwork, you deserve to see what happened to those bilimbis! 😋👀😂
