The disciples asked: "Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?" Jesus called a child, placed it in their midst, and said: "Unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest." Divine logic overturns worldly values. Greatness according to God is measured not by power, prestige, or wealth, but by humility, dependence, and simplicity of heart. A child has no pretensions of grandeur—it simply trusts. Examine whether you seek greatness according to the world or according to God. True greatness lies in making yourself small, in serving without pretense, and in trusting the Father as a child trusts a loving parent. The humble heart is the greatest in God's eyes.
🙏PRAYER 🙏 Lord of all greatness, fill my heart with a desire for greatness as You define it. Make me humble like a child: dependent, trusting, simple, and free from worldly ambition. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen🙏 #reflection
AUGUST 9 .2026 - SUNDAY #REFLECTION #Gospel After feeding the multitude, Jesus sent the disciples ahead by boat while He went up the mountain to pray. During the night, the boat was battered by waves. Jesus came walking on the water, but the disciples, thinking they saw a ghost, cried out in fear. Jesus said: "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Fear always clouds our spiritual vision. When we are terrified by circumstances, we fail to recognize Christ coming toward us. Faith is the antidote to fear: it does not eliminate the storm but allows us to see the Savior within it. If fear dominates your heart today, listen to Christ's voice: "It is I; do not be afraid." He is present in your trials and comes to meet you, even when you do not recognize Him. Let faith replace fear.
🙏PRAYER 🙏 My saving Lord, You always offer the grace we need to endure trials patiently. Help me to see You in my suffering and confusion. May I never give in to despair but grow in faith. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen Source: #OremusApp
