For tonight's reflection before we go to bed.

GOSPEL REFLECTION;
On the feast of Saint Lawrence, we remember the deacon who faced death with courage and even humor. When ordered to surrender the Church's treasures, he presented the poor: "These are the treasures of the Church." Jesus said: "Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain. But if it dies, it produces much fruit."
Saint Lawrence lived this truth radically. His death was not the end but the beginning of a fruitfulness that endures in the Church to this day. The grain that dies in love produces a harvest beyond counting.
How can you die to yourself in the small things of daily life? Each act of generosity, each sacrifice made in love, is a seed that will bear abundant fruit for the Kingdom of God. Fruitfulness is born from self-giving.

🙏Prayer 🙏
My sacrificial Lord, Saint Lawrence counted death as gain, trusting in the fruit his martyrdom would yield. Grant me that same courage—to die to self each day and live only for You.
Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.

AUGUST 9 .2026 - SUNDAY
#REFLECTION #Gospel
After feeding the multitude, Jesus sent the disciples ahead by boat while He went up the mountain to pray. During the night, the boat was battered by waves. Jesus came walking on the water, but the disciples, thinking they saw a ghost, cried out in fear. Jesus said: "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid."
Fear always clouds our spiritual vision. When we are terrified by circumstances, we fail to recognize Christ coming toward us. Faith is the antidote to fear: it does not eliminate the storm but allows us to see the Savior within it.
If fear dominates your heart today, listen to Christ's voice: "It is I; do not be afraid." He is present in your trials and comes to meet you, even when you do not recognize Him. Let faith replace fear.

🙏PRAYER 🙏
My saving Lord, You always offer the grace we need to endure trials patiently. Help me to see You in my suffering and confusion. May I never give in to despair but grow in faith.
Jesus, I trust in You. Amen
