🎀 MY MOVEMENT HAS A NEW PURPOSE. #Move4Her
I've never been one to jump on the fitness-content bandwagon. Let's be honest, that space is already saturated!
But sometimes life gives you a reason to look at something differently. At 57, I'm an ex-smoker and an ex-sedentary woman. I've worked towards becoming more active, taking more walks and making my wellbeing a priority.
Now, my youngest sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer. And suddenly, awareness is no longer just a pink ribbon or a campaign we see every October. It has a face. A name. A place very close to my heart. I may not be able to participate in the #ImagineChallenge this month because I'm preparing for a move to be closer to my youngest son. But I can still make my movement count.
I'm registering with I Love Boobies South Africa, with the intention of helping fund a breast screening for a woman who cannot afford one.
No gift box. No certificate. No recognition needed.
Just the hope that another woman gets an opportunity to look after her health.
So, when I share my walks, my steps and my movement, you'll know why. This isn't about chasing numbers or looking a certain way. It's about using my own journey to help bring awareness to something that now touches my family personally.
For my baby sister. For the woman who needs that screening. For all the families waiting for answers.

❤️🎀 My baby sister… 🥺❤️
There are moments in life when being the big sister means wishing with all your heart that you could take away the pain, fix what is wrong, and make everything okay. This is one of those moments.
You are my little sister, the baby of our four sisters, and no matter how grown we are or where life takes us, a part of me will always want to protect you.
Having you in South Africa while I am here in Portugal is so hard. I wish I could be there to hug you, hold your hand, sit beside you on the difficult days, and remind you in person that you don't have to be strong every minute. If I cannot be there physically, please know that my heart is right there with you. ❤️
I wish this wasn't a journey you had to walk, Sis. I wish I could take away the worry and uncertainty that come with it. I will keep loving you from across the miles, praying for you, encouraging you, and reminding you that you have your sisters beside you.
And to all the women reading this, please, please make your breast health a priority. Don't ignore a change, don't keep putting off that appointment, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Please get to know your body and seek medical advice when something doesn't seem right. We never know how much a simple reminder might matter to someone we love.
This is no longer just a pink ribbon or a month on the calendar for our family. It has a face, a name, and a place very close to my heart. 🎀

From circle to square… and then square to square again! 😂🧶
First, you crochet a circle. Then you convince it to become a square. And just when you think you’ve got the hang of it… another round comes along and you’re squaring it up all over again! 🤣
Honestly, crochet sometimes feels like you’re following a perfectly logical pattern while your yarn has other plans! 😂🧶🌸
But stitch by stitch, my special project is taking shape… and I’m still not spilling the beans about what it’s going to be! 😉💜
