Another word of God. LISTEN IS TO SILENT AS SILENT IS TO LISTEN (rumble words of silent is listen)
AUGUST 23, 2026 GOSPEL VERSE AND REFLECTION "YOU ARE PETER AND UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH AND THE GATES OF THE NETHERWORLD SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT." MATTHEW 16:18
REFLECTION: At Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked His disciples: "Who do you say that I am?" Peter answered: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus declared him blessed, for flesh and blood had not revealed this but the Father in heaven. Upon this confession, Christ built His Church, promising the gates of the netherworld would not prevail against it. Peter's faith was not born of human knowledge but of divine revelation. Our faith, too, is God's gift, to be received with gratitude and cultivated with fidelity. The Church built on this rock has survived two thousand years of persecution, heresy, and scandal—precisely because its foundation is divine. Make Peter's confession your own today: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." And trust the promise that the Church, despite all human weakness, will never be overcome.
🙏PRAYER 🙏 My Lord, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Strengthen my faith and the faith of Your Church, that the gates of hell may never prevail against us. Jesus, I trust in You. AMEN! SOURCE: OremusApp
AUGUST 16, 2026 - SUNDAY #REFLECTION A Canaanite woman comes to Jesus begging for her daughter. At first He is silent. Then He speaks of being sent to Israel. Still she kneels: “Lord, help me.” When He speaks of children’s food and dogs, she does not walk away. “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table.”
Jesus praises her: “O woman, great is your faith!” Her greatness is not in status or argument. It is humble, persistent trust that even a crumb of His mercy is enough. She keeps asking because she knows who He is.
Where have you stopped praying because God seemed silent? Bring your need to Jesus again today. Ask with humility. Persist with trust. Believe that His mercy is enough—and that great faith still moves His heart.
🙏PRAYER 🙏 Lord, give me the faith of the Canaanite woman. When You seem silent, teach me to keep asking with humility and trust.
