Walking from Sandy Flats Campground to Remington Hot Springs
Heyall, I am having a hard time finding information about a trail I know I have hiked in the past. When I stayed at Hobo Campground (now closed), my friends and I traveled a narrow path which turned into a backroad (that I thought was called like "Miners Trail" or something like that) to get to Remington Hot Springs. I cannot find any information on it now.
I am now planning a stay at Sandy Flats and I thought to walk to Hobo Campground and then take this trail to the hot springs. Does anyone have experience walking from Sandy Flats Campground to Remington? Is there a viable riverside path?
My favorite part of the sierra nevadas are the water and trees

Nemo, Big Agnus, S2S Rainfly material and water retention.
Looking to buy a new 3p tent. Have it narrowed down to Nemo Dragonfly OSMO 3p, Sea to Summit Telos Evo TR3 and Big Agnus Copper Spur UL3 XL. I've read up on all of them and they all have different pro's and cons.
All of them use different materials for their rainfly. Nemo has the OSMO which is a nylon/ polyester weave. S2S introduced Ultra-Sil LS which is their version of a nylon/ polyester weave. And Big Agnus has their proprietary HyberBead fabric which is still just a nylon fabric that has a different coating on it. All of the reviews I have read note how the rainfly keeps the resective tents dry with virtually zero leaking inside, hold up in wind and rain, etc, etc.
The question I am trying to find an answer for, with very little success is:
1.)how do the rainfly fabrics work when it comes to water retention? Meaning, when I pack up in the morning after a night of rain or heavy dew conditions, will the rainfly be carrying extra water like the old nylon rainfly would.
2.) do the new material dry out quicker than the previous nylon versions.
I camp mostly in the midwest including along the great lakes and other lakes. Which means I am near humid or damp conditions and the last thing I want is to wake up and have to carry extra weight due to the rainfly. Also, I am getting a 3p tent for when I camp with a companion and need the extra room. I am on the larger side of life (6'4"/ 270) so I need the room as my sleeping pad is a long/wide.
Please don't talk about the virtues relative to water repellency of dynema tents. I have one. Durston X-mid pro2 and I love it!!! Works GREAT for me as a solo tent. And The z-pack triple tents are out of consideration as they have the smallest footprint when compared to the other tents and won't fit my big frame and someone else.
