My answer: No second thoughts I'd contact the person and return the money! 👍 Here's why:
1. I know what it feels like to lose hard-earned money. It's painfully heartbreaking to both mind and heart and can cause other repercussions. Regardless if whoever lost the wallet is wealthy or not, I would still return it because it's not mine. The person who lost it probably needs it too!
2. Even if it could make a big difference in my life, the old me would think twice before returning it but the me now would straight away contact the owner. The important thing is I am alive and can still eat 3x a day despite not being rich. So I don't care at all if I find a wallet with lots of cash in it. Using money lost by other people is fine if there's no one around to claim it, like if I found it on the road. There's no way for me to know who lost it unless I wait for some time to see if anyone looks for it. However because there's an ID and contact information of the wallet owner, it is clearly stealing if I don't return it. (Direct mortal sins avoided: #Theft is against 7th and 10th commandment. Secondary #sin to avoid is against the 8th commandment since we won't need to lie abt it. On top of that, we won't sin against the 1st commandment if we love and care more for other people and God than money.)
3. As a renewed #Catholic , I do not want to add more sins to my soul and injury to God who is already very much offended. Earthly riches are nothing compared to Heaven so I will avoid adding more dirt to my spirit that could also hurt the Lord Jesus Christ. (Deadly Sins avoided: Greed, Gluttony and Sloth) Meaning less effort in confessing any mortal and/or venial sin and having to go earn plenary indulgences just to remit the forgiven sins. 😉 Prevention by avoiding sin is better than the cure of going through painful purgatory upon death so I choose the narrow road to #Heaven ! Lezgo! 💪

In other news... If only we can get past being moralists... Hirap eh. Must have more love of God so we can treat others/love our fellowmen like Jesus did when He was alive. Hayyyy.

The Quest to be Sinless...
Started this last year. Lol. (Thanks to what I call "spiritual renewal" around Lent 2023.) Of course I don't know if it's possible while I'm alive but no harm in trying, right? 😅
This time I'm checking on the 10 Commandments on Wikipedia . Yeah yeah I know we shouldn't use that site as reference but it has links to sources anyway. It lead me to the Catechism of the #Catholic Church (CCC), something I really should read since I learned about it last year but still haven't yet. Only bits and pieces like today. Just like I haven't read the entire Bible again since high school.
Posting screenshots here of those that stood out to me. 1st is from Wiki article, 2nd from CCC . I mean, looks like the sin of sexual immorality is big not only in Catholicism. And then look at the one from CCC. Lol being in sales, it looks like may employers and company managers/team leaders are guilty of sins against the 7th commandment! Will post more as I find any that stands out to me. But anyway let me know if you're aware of these too.
