Salsa is a musical genre that was born in the neighborhoods of New York in the 1960s. It originated in the Caribbean, specifically in New York City, and developed from the mixture of sounds of jazz, mambo and Afro-Cuban music. The sauce quickly spread throughout the world and continues to evolve to this day.
