Who do you want beside you when life gets hard?

A good relationship is not about creating a perfect life together. It is about finding someone who understands that life will never be perfect and still wants to experience it with you.

We have been conditioned to believe love should look like the movies. Constant romance. Perfect moments. Endless happiness. But real relationships are rarely that simple.

Relationships can be hard. They can challenge you, frustrate you, expose parts of yourself you still need to understand, and require you to grow in ways you never expected. But that is also what makes them so rewarding.

Real love is often found in ordinary moments. Sitting together after a difficult day. Laughing about something nobody else would understand. Holding each other through grief. Celebrating victories. Building memories. Forgiving. Growing. And continuing to choose each other.

Sometimes our past convinces us to close ourselves off. We were hurt. Betrayed. Abandoned. So fear tells us that avoiding another relationship will protect us from experiencing that pain again.

Maybe it will.

But it may also protect us from experiencing something extraordinary.

Do not allow yesterday’s pain to decide tomorrow’s possibilities.

Be brave enough to remain open. Be curious enough to meet someone without making them responsible for what someone else did. Be grateful when you find someone who genuinely values your presence in their life.

Relationships are not always easy.

Neither is life.

But sharing this incredible journey with someone who is grateful to walk beside you may be one of life’s greatest gifts.
