What really twists a knife in me is we went from a Confident, mature, commanding yet very Human Captain and a really tough starship that could take it as well as dish it out...
...to the Enterprise basically becoming merely a figurehead in the wrong places at the wrong times.
...and then to some immature daddy-issue bad boy's ride that did nothing in three films but get used for target practice and then killed like a farm animal being slaughtered.
That one line of Krall's in ST; Beyond; "Cut it's throat." referring to attacking the connector between primary hull and engineering hull.
That line...said it all.
It's because of how modern entertainment has destroyed, corrupted, ruined and devastated all that we loved and cherished that I am steadily building NEW universes for people of our world to seek Escapism within.
Universes that will NEVER be sold to the Disneys, Paramounts, Netflixes or Blackrocks.
How can I say that?
NO amount of money makes it 'better' when you've stabbed the man in the mirror you face every day, in his back.
I have to live with myself...selling-out, I don't like money that much, and do not seek to be 'wealthy'.
I want to be comfortable and be able to support my charities as best I am able to.
That's it, that's all...and also know that people are finding some enjoyment and escapism in my works so they can recharge, 'vacation' a little bit mentally and emotionally.
Yes, I'm a pretty simple creature.
Great wealth is 'Wrong' for me, I cannot think on that level, and I've seen how it traps and...'mutates' people.
I'd rather be poor, honest and Myself, than rich, trapped in lies and false appearances while becoming Someone Else that I'd probably hate.
