The reason I appreciated Thunderbolts & First Steps even more comes from Marvel abandoning humor at large to let the seriousness expand the depth.
I understand humor is subjective as art at large but I have never been too keen on the humor across most Marvel releases.
Russo Brothers had also once opened on this & said Marvel felt there was this constant need to have such gags so the films do not turn dull.
I feel this had hurt some releases in the past as each product does not warrant such sketches but both these films broke the template.
The scenes here sit. We feel the horrors from the past which hurt the present in Thunderbolts. We feel the dread which losing their child can inspire in Fantastic Four.
Both these films do have sketches still but neither hurt the depth the subjects desire & I truly hope Marvel will keep to this.

Recalled Mickey Gun Ornament
I used to work at CVS in Honolulu, it was a Long’s Drugs, but same thing. CVS bought the Long’s stores in 2012. I worked in the Moiliili store from 2011 to 2016. I worked in every department. One year, I think 2014, or 2015, I was stocking Hallmark when I noticed the Mickey Mouse ornament (maybe for Christmas but I can’t remember) was unusual. It depicted Mickey as military holing a gun. I didn’t get to stock them that day but a few days later these ornaments were on the news because they are being recalled for the ‘gun’ promoted message. And there was a mass shooting at a school a month before.
The next week, I had people, probably collectors, hounding me in Hallmark to secretly sell them these ornaments. Does anyone remember this? Am I losing my mind? I can’t find anything online about it. Maybe I’m remembering it incorrectly and it wasn’t Mickey. Not sure if any were sold in the US, my store shipped them back to the warehouse.

How old are Matt & Frank?
There’s some glaring contradictions in how old Matt Murdock & Frank Castle are supposed to be.
The MCU wiki says 1985 & 1979 respectively, but there are some things that question that.
According to the DDS1 episode ‘Nelson v Murdock’ Matt & Foggy first met in Law School in Fall 2010, so that would make Matt 22 with a birthday of sometime in November 1987, assuming he didn’t take a gap year. (Matt’s birthday is confirmed as November)
Now, this is contradicted in DDS2 by Matt & Foggy already being friends when Matt met Elektra in what was supposedly 2005, which only makes sense if Matt was born in November 1983.
But, this doesn’t make sense if Matt & Foggy were still INTERNS in 2014 at the age of 30/31. Surely at that age they’d be fully paid up attorneys?
Then, in DDS3, which takes place in late 2017, Maggie says Matt is 30, which backs up him being born in the November of 1987.
So, despite the Elektra flashback contradiction, things mostly point to Matt being born in November 1987, which means he was 26 in DDS1, and 39 in his most recent MCU appearance (DDBAS2)
As for Frank, I can’t remember if it’s a line in DDS2 or something in promos/supplementary material, but there was a mention of Frank enlisting because of 9/11, and The Blacksmith himself said that Frank joined the Marines at 18, so he could’ve only been born in 1983. We already know for a fact that his actual birthday is November 15.
This is confused however, by one of the promo posters from The Punisher Season 1, which says Frank is 35, and with Season 1 taking place in 2016, then that puts Frank’s YOB as 1981.
Now, I’m struggling to find it, but I do remember seeing a character bio promotional poster which did actually give a YOB for Frank as 1983.
So, this means Frank was 32 when we first meet him in DDS2, and 44 in his most recent MCU appearance (Spider-Man: Brand New Day)
However, other material and props have him older than that.
So, despite the contradictions, the most logical answer according to each characters life story, is that Matt was born in the November of 1987, with Frank being almost exactly 4 years older, being born in the November of 1983.
As you can tell, I’m very bored this evening.

Which is your favourite opening scene in a movie?
I am not talking about the whole opening sequence. But the first scene itself. I was sitting ideally and a thought stuck in my mind. The opening scene of dunkirk. The streets. The papers in the air. The soldiers. The lighting and the mood of the whole film striking your eyes just after a dark screen. I think it affected the audience viscerally. It was a subtle decision taken by nolan imo.
