All of the music is composed by Metheny (shared credit on one track), and it is one of his most ambitious studio ventures, integrating elements of jazz , rock and world music . On the performing side, it includes contributions from the Pinpeat Orchestra of the Royal Ballet of Cambodia , the London Orchestra and its conductor Jeremy Lubbock, the Choir of the Cambodian Royal Palace , and jazz harmonica player Toots Thielemans . Longtime Metheny collaborator Lyle Mays plays piano on two tracks.
🌙 New Album Release: Frontera de Sal by BloomDipityMuse
A border made of salt. A moonlit road between sea and desert. A place where fado sorrow, flamenco fire, Brazilian rhythm, and Mexican dust meet in one strange and beautiful soundscape.
Frontera de Sal (Salt Frontier) is an instrumental world-fusion album built from atmosphere, rhythm, texture, and emotion — no flags, no clichés, just salt, moonlight, shadows, and movement.
🎵 Featuring 8 tracks:
1. Blue Salt Veil 2. Maguey Moonrise 3. Sardine Tongues 4. Fado Syncope 5. Maré de Ferro 6. Salt in the Glass 7. Rua de Sal 8. Sombra na Pista
This one feels like walking along a coastline that slowly turns into desert… with a little sardine mischief hiding in the moonlight. 😅🐟🌙
