Change the slogan: Not Punjab, China and India have drunk water!
It is very sad to say that whenever there is a question of construction of a major water project, especially a dam, in Pakistan, some anti-national elements become active to sabotage the process. The aim of these elements is to spread chaos and put obstacles in the way of national development. Unfortunately, Punjab has been an easy target for them to make allegations and make it controversial. Without any argument or evidence, seeds of hatred are sown in the hearts of people based on assumptions, which results in loss of national unity.
Kala Bagh Dam Controversy – What is the Reality?
The Kala Bagh Dam is a major national project that was shelved simply on the assumption that Punjab would steal water and the delta would run out of water. But the fact remains that the most important role in protecting the delta is the mangroves, which themselves have been cut down indiscriminately. Did anyone oppose this process? Was it ever voiced? If it is really feared that the dam will affect the delta, then the question is, why is no one worried about India and China blocking the river?
