I am hoping that someone here might have some tips for me as far as my design for a face knurling project on something resembling a serrated face on a 2” washer
Currently using a rotating conical knurling tool that is pushed into face of material in a lathe
In metal forming there are old school techniques that defy logic.. For instance When burnishing we intentionally start with a rough surface and end with a mirror surface..??
It’s not logical.. but definitely factual
Maybe I missed something regarding forming serrations so that they are sharp at the crest
(Maybe a micro slot in tool instead of a 90deg V shape)
