Sometimes the wood tells you what it wants to be. 🪵
This was originally going to be a dinosaur for my son, but once I peeled back the bark and saw this pattern, I couldn’t touch it. It felt wrong to carve over something nature already perfected.
So, it became this little lopsided box instead. A happy accident that’s now one of my favorite pieces.
What do you think? Should I have stuck with the dinosaur or was the box the right call? 🦖➡️📦

I think you made the right choice. Sometimes nature guides us, and when something is already this beautiful, it deserves to stay as it is. This little box feels more unique and meaningful than a dinosaur.
Honestly? The box was 100% the right call. That grain looks like it was already telling a story, and you listened. Carving over it just to force a dinosaur would’ve been impressive, but letting the wood lead is art.
