Garage Door Spring Busted - Just installed wall mount openers last month. Coincidence?
About a month ago I installed Chamberlin wall mount garage door openers myself. Today I had the left spring on one door bust. For the record, my house is 21 years old and we have only had to replace the springs only one time on each door in the past 21 years. Considering that 90% of the time we enter through this one garage door, and we are a family of eight(!), statistically I think we were due for it to wear out soon. I will be having a professional replace the springs, but just curious if the breaking might have had anything with my DIY installation of the wall mount? Like could something being "off" have put undue tension on the spring or something? For instance, if the opener was not 100% level or something. Just seems so coincidental. Thanks!
