The Mirror Tells the Truth Today, I stood in front of the mirror longer than usual. My eyes wanted to look away, but my heart said: not this time. Today, I didnât lie to myself. Truth #1 #1 #1 I often appear strong, but inside, a lot of me feels lonely. I laugh, I talk, but there are emotions Iâve been suppressing for years. Truth #2 : In trying to keep others happy, I forget myself. Every time, I compromiseâand in the end, Iâm left upset with my own self. Truth #3 : Iâve had less faith in myself and more fear. I stopped many dreams simply because the fear of failure felt bigger than my courage. Out of these three, Truth #3 hurt the most. Because it was hard to accept that the biggest obstacle in my path wasnât anyone elseâit was me. Speaking this truth felt heavy on my tongue, but it lightened my heartâ as if a door locked deep inside slowly opened. Today, for the first time, I felt that by telling the truth, I didnât become weakerâI became free.
It takes serious courage to face your fears and admit that the biggest barrier is yourself. Itâs inspiring how speaking your truth didnât weaken you but actually set you free.
