Stern, Spencer Stone , Anthony Sadler , and Alek Skarlatos . The film stars Stone, Sadler and Skarlatos as themselves.
Do you remember the 2015 Thalys train attack ? Three young Americans successfully thwarted the attempts of a terrorist to wreak havoc aboard a train bound from Amsterdam to Paris and saved many lives... a tale of derring-do that captures the imagination. How would you react in such a situation?
They and another passenger were honored with France’s Legion of Honour for their courage and bravery.
The film’s reception was lukewarm, with critics citing Eastwood’s decision to cast six of the real-life participants as themselves, instead of professional actors, as a “clumsy, well-intentioned tribute.” Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie because it tells the story of the human spirit and is a record of an incident which is likely to fade from popular memory as the years pass. That’s why biographical/true-story films are so important 👍
