Is an expensive strap a waste of money?
Is an expensive strap a waste of money or is it like buying a great pair of shoes to go with a nice suit?
Pictured here is my Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope in bronze gold with a bespoke matte alligator strap in navy blue with hand contrast stitching, zermatt lining, padded, and with an embossing on the inner side. Customized to the odd 21mm lug width and 16mm taper.
Cost me about $250 when I could have gotten an Amazon strap for 10x less, probably.
Worth the handmade factor? Worth disincentivizing cheap production? Or if a strap looks alright, who cares how cheap it is?
