Budget tents for first time campers who want comfort?
I grew up camping every summer and want to get my partner camping. Their biggest concern is comfort. They’ve camped at summer camp and disliked it because they were just in sleeping bags on the ground.
I’m looking for a tent under or around $300 that will be comfortable for someone who doesn’t want to “rough it”. (My family was more utilitarian so I don’t have much experience with glamping)
My current considerations are: \- standing room (6ft) \- screened vestibule \- at least 6’ x 6’ (or 4+ person) \- high ventilation / good for hot weather
Would appreciate any tent recommendations, considerations I might be missing, or advice for camping in the swamp/subtropics!
ETA: Thank you for the sleep system recommendations. We were planning to check out options in person to get a feel for what is most comfortable for them.
The reason I am focusing on the tent is because they are a self-proclaimed “house mouse” and I expect they will want to spend time reading and relaxing in the shade and safer from from bugs. #camping #activity source
