I’m sure this question has been asked 14,000,605 times before, but I can’t seem to find a “real world” answer. I either find “you need to watch nothing” or “you need to watch everything”.
So I was obsessive over the MCU back in the day. I watched everything, and it came out, and would always tell people to do the same - watch it all, in release order.
Well, after Endgame, I just couldn’t keep up. The Disney+ series always felt vitally important to the plot, it felt like nothing could be skipped, and (most importantly) every time one series ended, the next would start. It felt like Marvel wanted to be the only thing I was watching. I watched everything all the way up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, skipped MoonKnight, watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness…and then completely stopped watching.
It’s been four years since then, and only recently have I desired to watch some of the new stuff. Deadpool and Wolverine seemed fun, Brand New World seemed like required material, but it wasn’t until Fantastic Four that I *really* wanted to watch new Marvel content. But by that point, it had been three years and I figured I’d need to catch up on far too much, so I never ended up seeing it.
Well now Spider-Man is coming out and Doomsday is around the corner, and I *REALLY* want to see them…so it’s time to catch up.
But I don’t have the time to watch all 106 hours and 57 minutes of Marvel content that I’ve missed (yes, I counted). So what is “required” to have a good experience with these films, without over-burdening myself?
I feel like She-Hulk and maybe the Daredevil series’ are required for Spider-Man, Quantumania might establish the multiverse nonsense that’s going on, Secret Invasion and Fantastic Four are probably important for Doomsday…and then what’s actually important for Fantastic Four?
**TL;DR** \- The MCU has become overwhelming. Can anyone give me a streamlined recommendation of what will give me a good experience, without feeling lost, but also not require me to call out of work for two weeks? #video #movies
