Legendary jazz trumpeter Miles Davis passed on September 28, 1991
I was living in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. My wife and I dropped our daughter Nicole off at school in Park Slope, and on our way home, we stopped at Cousin John’s Bakery on 7th Ave. in the Slope. They often played jazz, but that day they were playing a lot of Miles Davis. I remembered he was in the hospital at the time, and I knew it wasn’t his birthday, which is in May. Hoping I was wrong, I said to myself, "He must have passed away."
