Hello, I work in design and print and I have an ancient paper cutter from the 60s. The main surface that I put the papers to cut are cast iron and while not rusty it does accumulate some surface rust and hard to see dirt all the time.
Recently I took a look at newer paper cutters similar to mine that they have the same iron surface but it is polished to look like chrome/mirror surface and I was wondering if I can polish mine too in a DIY manner (taking it apart and send the "table" somewhere to do a pro polish is impossible due to size and weight).
What do you think? I haven't done anything for the past 10 years because it is a minor issue (put a throwaway paper first for example to avoid getting the papers dirty or something liek that). #industry
